Picture Quality

Among all Sightmark Wraith’s features, image quality is always overrated. Not just providing a surprisingly good quality image in good light, this scope performs well at night.

Overall, the high-resolution 4000×3000 CMOS sensor and HD display generate such high-qualified photos and videos.

Of note, the new 4k is irreplaceable to night shooters desiring the clearest pictures. Although it can’t be optimal as a standard HD version scope, the Sightmark Wraith is an exceptional choice for tight-budget buyers.

It can identify targets from 300 yards, even further in daylight. The 1280×720-pixel display resolution generates the vivid imaging, while the wide range of magnification helps users adjust the scope easier.

The Wraith 4K’s IR illuminator (850 nm) is also available. Hence, the night-vision plus daytime-color modes can generate vibrant and crisp photos.

For the best picture quality possible, you should also adjust the intensity and IR light’s beam to suit the scope settings.

Regardless of indoor or outdoor range, the display is crystal clear. Besides, the bright magenta standard crosshair creates a perfect stark contrast between the target and the background.

The digital zoom is fabulous. Shooting at 100 yards doesn’t matter. Adjusting the magnification is fast and almost seamless. Almost no pixelation or errors take place during use.

At night, the base magnification of 3-24x may reach the close-up target of 25 yards appearing grainy. Still, getting a good targets’ identification isn’t uncomplicated. The customizable reticle options offer 9 different colors and 10 reticle options—this aids in better accuracy.

At the maximum of the 8x digital zoom, a 4x optical, and 32x magnification, the 4K still rocks you with the amazing color screen’s clarity and image quality.

Whether traditional day scope or night hunting, Sightmark Wraith 4K 3-24×50 Digital Riflescope always performs well.

However, things may get fuzzy when you increase the magnification at further distances. But, it doesn’t affect the target determination much.

Equipped with ambient light and standard city light pollution, the 4k can easily determine the object. The IR illumination allows you to handle almost blackening around the edges, albeit sometimes causing limited view’s field.

The IR illuminator is very bright. It can impress you at first use, even in night-vision mode.

Also, the 4K still offers light dispersion at night and clarifier daytime viewing with no eye-cup.

Video Recording Function Comes Up With SD Card

Interestingly, the Sightmark Wraith 4K boasts a built-in UHD 4K video recording with audio. It features the super high-definition 4K image quality, even at a large image scale.

You’re all set to adore the multiple-in-one recording mode, slow motion, set shutter times, set photo bursts, and record audio. Indeed, its recording capability can freak you out.

Recording files coming up with vivid sounds will niggle you with HD Wraith. Nothing is better than viewing with authentic sound.

A micro USB inside allows videos/photos exported and outboard additional power supply. Meanwhile, the 256GB SD card enables you to record photos/videos freely and update the firmware. The card slot is under the rubber layer on the unit’s side.

Materials & Durability

With a sturdy aluminum housing, the Wraith 4k 3-24×50 digital riflescope feels really solidly built. However, as it’s made of metal, its weight is a bit hefty.

Each unit is water-proof and can endure temperatures from -4F to 140F. On the flip hand, it lacks fog proof. While you use it in extreme climates, store your scope carefully to prevent internal fogging.

Day & Night Mode

The color display is for day mode; the black-white display is for night mode.

The high-resolution sensor creates an incredibly crisp detail, even at its full magnification accrossing 200 yards. Certainly, Sightmark can have well-defined images at its full zoom.

In low-light conditions, the resolution will decrease, and it’s time you used the night mode.

Overall, it excels in dim light, bright daylight, and low light with consistent performance.

If the IR illumination is eliminated, you could see out up to 200 yards with no image degradation. Turn the 850 nm illuminator on, then things will shine.

If your illuminator alternative can surpass the Sightmark’s one, just replace it to see the crystal-clear night vision with extreme visibility.

Battery Life

Inside each scope is an internal rechargeable battery. The batteries can be charged plugging into a USB type C charger, which is located under the rubber cover on the unit’s side.

After a full charge, it will obtain up to 8 hours of operation without using Wifi or a recording feature.

Otherwise, running all the functions will limit the operational time to 4-5 hours.

On the unit’s top, five different buttons’ locations are user-friendly, intuitive, and convenient. You could also use a center on/off/select button with up, down, right, and left arrows. All buttons lead you to a 7-setting menu.

These buttons feature prominently in the scope’s overall navigation and operation. This arrangement does the trick in dark hunting at large.

They are also incorporating the rotary dial and navigation buttons aids much in the night vision. Even a beginner could handle it with ease.

The dial/push button is used for zoom when in shooting mode. There are also two vital buttons on the left and right of the center dial. The right one is the power button. The left is to run the inbuilt video recording or take a photo.

Both these two sit flush with the casing. So, it seems a bit tricky to monitor them in the dark with gloves.
